Sylvia Rook

Sylvia Rook, CTSI

Sylvia Rook is a practicing Trading Standards Officer, Chartered Trading Standards Practitioner and Fellow of the Chartered Trading Standards Institute (CTSI) with nearly 40 years’ experience in the field of consumer law.

As well as advising businesses and investigating allegations of criminal offences in her day job for Warwickshire County Council, she is also a Lead Officer for CTSI and a national spokesperson for Fair Trading matters, frequently appearing on consumer programmes on television and radio.

She works closely with the Policy Team at CTSI and provided much of the Trading Standards input to the drafting of the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 and has more recently been working with the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) on their guidance on pricing.

Sylvia is an accredited trainer for the Chartered Trading Standards Institute, training businesses, consumer advisors and Trading Standards Professionals, and is a member of the CTSI Qualification Panel and CTSI Council.
